CHICAGO, IL, USA - Sachia Vickery kept home interest alive in the Oracle Challenger Chicago as she overcame Anna Blinkova in straight sets, 6-4, 7-5, to reach the semifinal.

The 23-year-old sixth seed maintained her September form, having already beaten Ons Jabeur and Alexandra Kiick and had little trouble against the conquereor of top seed Danielle Collins.

Vickery will face the unseeded Mona Barthel for a place in the final, the German making it past Ukraine's Dayana Yastremska 6-2, 7-6 in the opening quarterfinal for her first straight-sets win of the week.

Barthel was joined in the last four by compatriot Tatjana Maria, who took care of Canadian Francoise Abanada 7-6, 6-2. The fourth seed now faces No 2 seed Petra Martic, after the Croatian beat wildcard Varvara Lepchenko 7-5, 7-6. Neither Maria or Martic have dropped a set in Chicago this week.

On a day where action was delayed due to inclement weather, play did not get underway until 12.30pm on indoor courts.
