MONTRÉAL, Canada - Despite her emotionally draining win over an injured Mihaela Buzarnescu, defending champion Elina Svitolina still made time for fans following her post-match press conference, going live on Instagram with the Coupe Rogers social team.

The interview gave Svitolina the opportunity to thank those who made Montréal sight-seeing recommendations ahead of the tournament.

"I went to a few restaurants that they suggested," she said. "I went to a vegan place, which was very nice. The tournament made some recommendations for seafood, as well. I really like lobster!"

Svitolina also recounted getting to play football with her fellow WTA stars and the Montréal Impact.

"That was fun to be with the people there; it's always nice to do things with other players, and something different at that. It was very, very hot, so we tried to win, but unfortunately we lost.

"Kiki Mladenovic and Daria Kasatkina are definitely the best football players on tour!"

Though she picked the Coupe Rogers as one of her favorite tournaments, Svitolina holds out hope that a tournament will one day come to her hometown of Odessa, especially since becoming the highest-ranked player in Ukrainian history.

"It's beautiful there. It's by the sea, and I think people would love it. Kiev is very nice, as well. There's so much great architecture and places to visit."
