Legend's Picks - Rennae Stubbs

As the Race heads to Montreal, Rennae Stubbs gives advice on who you should pick for WTA Fantasy Tennis.

RENNAE STUBBS' FANTASY PICKS:

Simona Halep

“Simona Halep is No.1 in the world. She’s got a lot of confidence this year, being a finalist at the Australian Open, winning in Paris and she loves playing in Canada – she won the Rogers Cup at Montreal two years ago. She is as good as you get from the back of the court, moving the ball around. She loves playing on hard court and is in a good section of the draw.”

Angelique Kerber

“You have to look at Angelique Kerber, coming off her win at Wimbledon. I think she’s emotionally prepared now to have another great run through the summer. I also think hard courts are possibly her best surface and with the confidence she has regained this year, I expect her to go very deep in Montreal this week.”

Caroline Wozniacki

“Caroline Wozniacki probably hasn’t had the year that she would have wanted after winning the Australian Open, but I feel like she is primed for a good run in the summer. She loves playing on the hard court, with her strength and movement on this surface being a real asset, and I feel like she’s due another breakthrough this week in Canada.”

Sloane Stephens

“I think Sloane Stephens has great memories from last summer when she returned from injury and won the US Open, and she could well hit the hot button this week in Montreal. She moves as well as anybody on the tour, we know that she has the patience but we also know that she has the weapons to be able to hurt anyone.”

Sleeper Pick: Daria Kasatkina

“There are so many players that can do damage, but maybe my dark horse in this tournament is Daria Kasatkina. She is the type of player than cause a bit of an upset. Kasatkina made the final earlier this year at Indian wells and has the belief she can do it again.”
