'I'm always in the fast lane,' says Serena
Serena Williams says there are records she still wants to break - and she's ready to put in the hard work to do it.
"I’m an incredible mental player, but I’m also a physical player," the 23-time Grand Slam champion told InStyle magazine. "You can’t play a sport without being physically ready. It’s difficult to come back as a professional athlete who was once 'Serena.'
"There are records out there that I want, and I’ll get there, but in due time. I’m always in the fast lane. I’m always extra. I have to be willing to do the work, and I have been. Because, to be honest, I feel pressure to be Serena. But these days I keep telling myself I don’t have to be anything. This is for me."
The 36-year-old needs one more Grand Slam title to equal Margaret Court's record of 24. After giving birth to daughter Olympia last September, Williams has made a return to top-level competition to chase that milestone.
However, she was forced to withdraw from the French Open before a clash with old rival Maria Sharapova due to a pectoral muscle injury; she will be hoping to maintain her fitness at Wimbledon next month.

But competing on the biggest stages doesn't make her nervous - being a mom does.
"Is she OK? What is she doing? Did she fall? Did she sit? Even when she crawls I shadow her so she doesn’t hit her head. I have a padded floor - everything makes me nervous about her. Is she in the car? Who’s driving? Why am I not driving? I want total control," Williams added.
