Giorgi and Gasparyan have equal records against each other - one win apiece. Both previous encounters have come at Linz, most recently last year, when the Italian won 6-3, 3-6, 6-2.
Kozlova and Cornet have played only once before - four years ago in Hong Kong, when the Frenchwoman enjoyed a straight sets win, 6-4, 6-0, in the Round of 32.
Sasnovich will be looking for a swift response to her most recent match against Hercog, which came at the French Open, and transpired to be an epic. Hercog came out on top 4-6, 6-2, 8-6.
Kudermetova and Pera have already played twice this year, and both went to three sets - albeit both in qualification rounds. In Doha, Pera won on the hardcourt 6-1, 2-6, 7-5; on the grass of Eastbourne, Kudermetova won 4-6, 6-3, 6-3.
