Again and again Fila proves that modern twists on classic tennis styles create beautiful and timeless outfits. Just combine the traditional colors of navy, red and white, add some nice contemporary design touches, and you get the look that meets the taste of all generations, on top of being appropriate for all tennis stages, from practice courts to Grand Slams.
Hungary’s Timea Babos impresses in the red version of the Fila Summer Heritage Skirt, a crisp A-line design with flattering back pleats and striped elastic waistband, and the matching Fila Summer Heritage Cami, featuring multicolored spaghetti cross straps and cute diagonal stripes at sides.
Late in July, Venus Williams launched her EleVen Bonita collection, picking the Avail Tank and Elevate Swing Skirt for her opener at the Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic.
The tank features a sweetheart neckline, crossed thin straps and printed inserts at hips and center back that contrast the blue nights background. The exposed white elastic waistband accentuates the color-blocked skirt.
In addition to creating a breathtaking EleVen outfit for this summer, Williams rounded out her on-court look with hair jewelry for braids.
Bethanie Mattek-Sands likes to blur the line between tennis apparel and streetwear. Her exclusive Super Girl capsule collection, created in cooperation with Lucky in Love, is inspired by comics and the American’s fun approach to WTA fashion, as well as to life in general.
In San Jose, the eight-time doubles Grand Slam champion and Olympic gold medalist rocked the superhero-themed Lucky in Love Super Girl V-Neck Top, that includes sheer mesh back panel and chevron stripes on the chest. The former doubles world No.1’s solid blue pleated skirt boasts a high elastic waistband with metallic and mesh details at sides.
Maria Sakkari gave a unique twist to her simple separates by wearing the new animal print Nike Air Zoom Zero tennis shoes. Besides the bold style, the sneakers offer exceptional responsiveness, springy feel and a locked-in fit.
Sakkari’s light and breathable Nike Fall Court Tank is colored celestial gold. The Greek paired it with the pleated Nike Fall Victory Skirt in the color gridiron that is highlighted by white contrast piping.
Andrea Petkovic’s red and white Stella McCartney tank from adidas’ fall collection is punctuated with camo-patterned ventilation at the sides.
The German’s black skirt is enhanced by Stella’s signature laser perforations that provide free circulation of air and make the item texturally appealing. The British designer employed a water-saving coloring process in the creation of both the tank and the skirt.
