No.8 seed Zhang Shuai saved two set points in the first set and came from a break down in the second to defeat Kristina Mladenovic in the first round of the Open 6ème Sens - Métropole de Lyon. It was Zhang's third win in a row against the Frenchwoman, and levelled their head-to-head at four wins apiece.
