No.1 seed Magda Linette saved triple set point returning at 4-5 in the first set, and one set point in the second-set tiebreak, to defeat No.5 seed Rebeka Masarova in straight sets and reach the Galaxy Holding Group Guangzhou Open semifinals. Linette advanced to the last four of a tournament for the first time since the Australian Open.
