Former champ Mertens bests Bucsa in Doha, improves to 12-2 in 2025

Elise Mertens, the 2019 Qatar TotalEnergies Open champion, defeated qualifier Cristina Bucsa to reach the last 16. Singapore champion Mertens extended her winning streak to seven matches and her overall 2025 record to 12-2.
