No. 8 seed Davenport at Wimbledon; also won doubles in Rosmalen and reached finals of Wimbledon doubles and mixed doubles; with partner Mark Woodforde, won fourth Grand Slam mixed doubles title Australian Open; surpassed $3-million mark in career prize money, the 18th woman to pass that milestone
1997 - At season-ending Championships w/Sukova, upset top seeds G. Fernandez/Zvereva 1r, ending Fernandez' career, before falling in the SF
1998 - Enjoyed best US Open in eight years, reaching 3r before ret. to V. Williams due to a strained back; at Birmingham, a grass court event, ousted No. 14 seed Fusai to reach 3r before ret. in the third set against No. 7 seed Likhovtseva; forced to ret. during doubles final at Luxembourg with a right wrist sprain; won her 300th career match; qualified for season-ending Championships as one of the best eight doubles teams of the year for 13th time
1999 - Won the doubles title, her 66th on the WTA Tour, at the last regular-season tournament of her career at Leipzig, and was a doubles finalist at the season-ending championships, her last event; ended her career atop the doubles point standings for the season and world-ranked No. 3; reached mixed doubles final at Roland Garros with Rick Leach and Wimbledon mixed QF with Leach; having not won a singles match all year, reached 3r at Wimbledon, her 16th appearance in the singles draw there, more than any other player in the 1999 draw
