Romanian Patricia Maria Tig announced her return to tennis in a big way in Bucharest, and a hot shot from the semifinals earned your votes for the crown of July's Shot of the Month presented by Cambridge Global Payments.
Advancing to the final at the WTA International event on home soil, having been absent from tour-level tennis for nearly two years due to injury and pregnancy, the unranked Tig came through qualifying, upset defending champion Anastasija Sevastova en route before falling in her eighth match of the week to Elena Rybakina.
Along the way, however, the Romanian showed glimpses of the tennis that took her to the Top 100 in the first half of her career, and that was fully on display in the semifinals against Laura Siegemund - the point which earned her this month's crown.
