This will be the first meeting between No.3 seed Alizé Cornet and her fellow Frenchwoman Fiona Ferro.
Cornet is into her 13th WTA singles final; she has a 6-6 win-loss record in her previous finals. World No.48 Cornet (career-high No.11) won this title last year when it was held in Gstaad, defeating Mandy Minella in her most recent final. Four of her six titles have come on clay.
Cornet is this week's leader in percentage of return points won (55%).
Ferro is into her first-ever WTA singles final. The World No.98 reached her first WTA semifinal earlier this year, which was also on clay in Switzerland, at Lugano.
Ferro leads the tournament this week in percentage of second-service points won (57%).
Han Xinyun has won three WTA doubles titles, and Monique Adamczak has won two. Anastasia Potapova has one WTA doubles title to her credit, while Yana Sizikova is seeking her first WTA doubles title.
