DOHA, Qatar - In the lone main draw match slated on an opening, rainy day at the Qatar Total Open, Barbora Strycova eased through to the second round.

The World No.49 surrendered just two games in defeating Omani wildcard Fatma Al Nabhani, ranked World No.409, 6-1, 6-1.

Strycova had also ended Al Nabhani's main draw hopes at the tournament back in 2017, where she surrendered three games in the first set before winning 6-3, 6-0, and had little trouble to become the first player without a bye to move through to round two.

Strycova never allowed the Omani No.1 to hold serve in 64 minutes, breaking serve seven times even though she lost her own twice, and will face either No.7 seed Anastasija Sevastova, or qualifier Anna Blinkova.

Four women also booked their spots in the main draw on Monday at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex, led by top qualifying seed Ajla Tomljanovic.

The Hua Hin runner-up defeated No.7 seed Polona Hercog in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, but was the lone seeded player to make it out of the qualifying round.

China's Zhu Lin upset No.2 seed Alison Riske, 6-2, 6-1, while Blinkova overcame 14 double faults and held on to see off No.4 seed Samantha Stosur in a match that was not only delayed by rain but also lasted nearly two-and-a-half hours on court, 7-6(1), 3-6, 6-4.

Rounding out the qualifiers was Strycova's compatriot Karolina Muchova, as the Czech defeated Russia's Liudmila Samsonova, 6-1, 3-6, 6-1.
