Not before 6pm
Stefanie Voegele (SUI) v Lesia Tsurenko (UKR) [7]

Stefanie Voegele's run to the final is an improvement on her only previous appearance at Acapulco, when, as seventh seed, she made a first round exit in 2014 to Kimiko Date-Krumm in three sets.

Stefanie Voegele has made one doubles final appearance, losing alongside Mandy Minella to Eva Birnerova and Alexandra Panova in straight sets in Bogota in 2012.

Playing in her fifth Acapulco tournament, Lesia Tsurenko is making her second straight appearance in the final, having won the event last March - beating Kristina Mladenovic in the final.

Last year's title was her third WTA success, adding to victories in Guangzhou the previous year and Istanbul in 2015.

Stefanie Voegele beat Lesia Tsurenko in their last meeting, in Katowice two years ago, but the Ukrainian won the previous four encounters - at the Australian Open in 2011 and Sydney in 2015, sandwiching 2013 successes in 's-Hertogenbosch and Madrid.

Lesia Tsurenko has dropped just 19 games on her way to the final - as many as she dropped en route to the 2017 title, when she beat each of the top three seeds - Jelena Ostapenko, Kristina Mladenovic and Mirjana Lucic-Baroni.

Lesia Tsurenko is yet to drop a set in this year's tournament - having won the 2017 event without dropping one either - although she was aided by two retirements last year. Stefanie Voegele has dropped just one set this year - against top seed, Sloane Stephens, in the quarterfinal.
