KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - Timea Babos and Chan Hao-Ching beat Chan Yung-Jan and Zheng Saisai in the BMW Malaysian Open doubles final on Sunday for the Hungarian-Taiwanese duo's first WTA doubles title in their first tournament as a pairing.

The Chans are obviously quite familiar with one another, with Chan Hao-Ching just four years younger than sister Chan Yung-Jan. In fact, they have played lots of doubles together, highlighted by the 2013 Shenzhen title, but this was their first professional match against each other in singles or doubles.

"It was our first time playing each other on tour," Chan Hao-Ching said. "We still slept in the same room yesterday. We talked about the match and said on court we would be opponents but after the match we would still be sisters."

After splitting the first six games against their fourth-seeded foes, top-seeded Babos and Chan Hao-Ching reeled off six straight to take control of the match en route to a 63 64 triumph. It was Babos' seventh WTA doubles title, with all of them having come in the last two years, and Chan's third.

"At the beginning we were struggling a little bit, but we became more aggressive and then controlled the match quite well," Babos said.

"To play together for the first time and get a victory is a really good start. We will definitely try to play again together, and I hope we have a good future."

The champions' biggest challenge came in the first round, where they overcame a match point in the match tie-break of their 46 60 1311 victory over Aleksandra Krunic and Ana Vrljic.

A Taiwanese player has now won the doubles in Kuala Lumpur three straight years, with Chang Kai-Chen and Chuang Chia-Jung triumphant in 2012 and Chang Kai-Chen again in 2013.
