Strycova to work with new coach Kotyza in 2018

Czech veteran Barbora Strycova finished 2017 with her first WTA singles title in six years at the Upper Austria Ladies Linz, and heads into next season with a major coaching decision, taking to Instagram to announce a new partnership with David Kotyza.

Strycova split with longtime coach Tomas Krupa in the fall. Krupa will work with Karolina Pliskova in 2018; Pliskova herself worked with Kotyza from the start of last season.

Kotyza worked with Petra Kvitova for most of her career, on her side through two Wimbledon titles (2011 and 2014) in addition to a WTA Finals crown in 2011.

"David has had great successes with Petra Kvitova, winning Grand Slams, and Karolina Pliskova has been the World's No.1," Strycova notes on Instagram. "I hope he will succeed with me!"

Former ATP doubles specialist Lukas Dlouhy rounds out Strycova's coaching team, which will make their season debut at the ASB Classic in Auckland.
