Fresh off her second Grand Slam victory at Wimbledon, Garbiñe Muguruza made an appearance talking tennis and more on Chelsea Handler's eponymous Netflix talk show.
Muguruza earned a emphatic win over Venus Williams, becoming the first player to beat both Williams sisters in major finals.
"Two years ago, I played the Wimbledon final and lost to Serena," Muguruza said. "I thought how I had another chance, and I know how it feels to lose in the final. No one remembers the runner-up; it's all about winning. I thought, 'This one is mine,' and so I tried so hard to win!"
The Spaniard came bearing gifts, presenting Handler with a copy of her Stella McCartney design she wore during her winning fortnight, and discussed her work with the charity Room to Read, which promotes literacy efforts for children in need.
"I felt touched, and I needed a cause I could identify with. It's about girls' education, literacy. It's in Africa and Asia. I think it's so necessary that we educate our children. They're starting a new project in Peru, and I felt like I had to give back."
