Kerber has won her last three matches against Osaka, all three in straight sets, most recently in the Round of 32 at Wimbledon this year. The Japanese won their first-ever encounter, though, at last year's US Open, 6-3, 6-1.
Stephens and Bertens have played only once before - and that was half a decade ago. The American won on the Rome clay back in 2013, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.
