Pliskova and Cibulkova join Birmingham field

BIRMINGHAM, UK - World No.6 Karolina Pliskova and former WTA Finals Singapore presented by BNP Paribas champion Dominika Cibulkova have added their names to the entry list for the Nature Valley Classic in Birmingham next month.

The pair are set to compete alongside reigning Wimbledon champion Garbiñe Muguruza, two-time Wimbledon winner and defending Birmingham champion Petra Kvitova, rising Japanese star Naomi Osaka, British No.1 Johanna Konta, last year’s Birmingham finalist Ashleigh Barty, US Open runner-up and 2016 Birmingham champion Madison Keys, and five-time Grand Slam champion Maria Sharapova.

Patrick Hughesman, Nature Valley Classic Tournament Director, said: “It’s testament to the prestige and reputation that the tournament has built up that so many world class players want to be part of it.

"Our grass courts are world class and are facilities get better every year and players know that whoever lifts the Maud Watson Trophy on 24th June will have had to battle through an incredibly tough field to get there.”
