World No.1 and Australian Open Caroline Wozniacki is one of the star names competing in the Eastbourne International in June.

The 27-year old Dane said: "I've had an exciting start to the year so far, and I'm looking forward to seeing where that takes me in the first half of the season, and during the British summer of tennis.

“The Eastbourne fans have always given me a very warm welcome to Devonshire Park and I've had some memorable results there over the years, particularly winning the title in 2009.

“I hope to build on my 10-year history at the tournament this summer, and to get the best possible grass court preparation in at the Eastbourne International ahead of Wimbledon."

Defending Birmingham Classic champion Petra Kvitova has also confirmed she will return to Edgbaston Priory Club in June, saying: “That week in Birmingham was so special for me and I’m very excited to come back. I got amazing support. I always love playing on grass and in the UK so I’m really looking forward to it.”

Reigning champion Donna Vekic will join British No.1 and fellow 2017 finalist Johanna Konta at the Nottingham Open from June 9.

“I’m so excited to be returning to Nottingham in the summer. It was such an incredible feeling last year to win the event and lift the prestigious Elena Baltacha Trophy in front of a packed centre court crowd.

“I had such a great experience and thoroughly enjoyed my time at the tournament so I’m really looking forward to getting back out on the grass courts and having the chance to defend my title.”

The LTA’s Director of Major Events Oliver Scadgell said: “We’re delighted to already have so many fantastic players confirmed for our British tennis summer events. It’s brilliant news for our fans that they will have the opportunity to get up close to some world-class tennis at the Nottingham Open, Birmingham Classic and Eastbourne International.”
