PARIS, France - The stars of the WTA have arrived in Paris to prepare for Roland Garros 2019 - but before the second major of the season gets under way on Sunday, there's plenty of sightseeing to do and selfies to take. And a bit of practice, too...

It's not the first time in the French capital for Donna Vekic or Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, but sights like the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe never get old.

For Victoria Azarenka, Paris represents an opportunity to go hunting for designer trainers.

Whose squad does it better - Simona Halep, Karolina Pliskova, Elina Svitolina and Borna Coric, or Maria Sakkari, Alizé Cornet and Stefanos Tsitsipas?

When in Paris, do what the Parisians do, decided Sloane Stephens and Eugenie Bouchard - though some French temptations could prove dangerous for the latter.

In the grounds of Roland Garros itself, though, it was time to get down to work for Carla Suárez Navarro, Naomi Osaka and Madison Keys.

At the draw ceremony, defending champion Simona Halep got her "best picture ever" with 11-time winner Rafael Nadal.

Elsewhere, it was baby news for former World No.1 and 2008 French Open champion Ana Ivanovic, who announced her second pregnancy on social media.

Ivanovic and husband, professional soccer player Bastian Schweinsteiger, welcomed son Luka last March.
