Some big moves occur in the Top 8 of the Porsche Race to Shenzhen now that the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships are in the books.

Notably, Dubai champion Belinda Bencic flies right into the thick of things, shooting from No.20 to No.4 on the strength of her first WTA singles title since 2015.

The Swiss star ended the event with four straight Top 10 wins -- a feat which would translate perfectly to the year-ending championships against the Top 8 players in the world, if Bencic can hold her position all the way through to the end of the season.

There is also a new No.1 in the Porsche Race to Shenzhen, as Australian Open runner-up Petra Kvitova displaces Australian Open champion Naomi Osaka at the top of the chart.

Kvitova had a stellar week of her own in Dubai, blasting her way to her WTA-leading third final of the year before falling to Bencic in the championship match.

Simona Halep's quarter-final showing in Dubai moves the Romanian up four spots from No.12, putting her just inside the elite eight for the first time this season. Bencic and Halep's entries into the Top 8 knock Ashleigh Barty and Doha champion Elise Mertens to No.9 and No.10 respectively.

Additionally, Dubai semi-finalist Elina Svitolina climbs 3 spots higher on the list, securing a Top 5 spot from her previous position of No.8.

Also, be on the lookout for Hsieh Su-wei, whose semifinal run in Dubai propelled her 13 spots to No.12, and Alison van Uytvanck, whose successful title defense in Budapest caused her to rocket up 82 positions to No.26.
