Captured 1998 Wimbledon singles and doubles titles, becoming the oldest first-time Grand Slam singles winner in the Open Era at age 29 years and nine months...Won titles on all four surfaces...Crossed the $10 million mark in career prize money in 1998, the fifth player to reach the milestone...Had a mathematical shot to earn the No. 1 ranking at the 1998 US Open had she won the tournament (reached semifinals)...Won more than 500 career singles matches, the 15th woman in the Open Era to accomplish the feat...Won the 1997 season-ending championships singles and doubles; qualified for the season-ending tour championships in singles and doubles every year 1989-98 and also qualified in doubles in 1987...
