- Lefthander whose preferred surface was grass... Attended Mills College, Oakland... Youngest member of the Original 9, she was 20 years old when she signed up for Gladys Heldman's Virginia Slims Invitational at Houston in 1970... After winning the US girls' title and junior Wimbledon, went on to reach R16 of ladies' singles at the All England Club in 1968 and 1969 and was ranked in the US Top 10... Represented the United States in team competitions and enjoyed a title run at the Welsh Open in 1968... Left the tour in 1975, and earned a BA degree in Art and Biology from UC Berkeley... Later moved to Idaho, where she ran the Elkorn Tennis School for 11 years... In 1991, founded the Sagebrush Equine Training Center for the Handicapped, which became one of the nation’s premier horse-assisted therapy venues... Remains an active environmentalist, with a special interest in wetlands and habitat restoration... Inducted into International Hall of Fame in 2021, along with fellow members of the Original 9.
