Famously consistent baseliner who played with a rare (for the time) two-handed backhand... Stellar junior career brought 17 US national trophies as well as the Wimbledon girls’ singles title at age 15... Went on to capture back-to-back singles and doubles titles at Cincinnati in 1966-67 and win the Canadian Open in 1968... Quarterfinalist at US Open in 1968 and 1969... Member of victorious US Federation Cup side in 1969; never lost a match, singles or doubles, when representing her country in that competition or Wightman Cup... Sister, nicknamed Plums, was also a No.1 junior who did not pursue a career in tennis... Son's name is Kevin and has a granddaughter, April...
