On home soil, Jang stuns Kenin in Seoul for first Top 30 win
South Korean No.1 Jang Su-Jeong upset No.5 seed Sofia Kenin in the first round of the Hana Bank Korea Open, improving to 2-0 against the American. The result was Jang's first career Top 30 win, and first win over a Top 50 player since defeating Klara Koukalova exactly a decade previously, in the first round of Seoul 2013.
