Birrell halts Saito run in Osaka to reach first WTA semifinal

Qualifier Kimberly Birrell reached her first WTA semifinal after coming from 5-2 down in the first set to defeat wild card Sara Saito in the Kinoshita Group Japan Open quarterfinals.
