Elise Mertens came from a break down in the first set to defeat qualifier Aliaksandra Sasnovich in the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix first round, improving to 4-3 overall against Sasnovich. The pair have been facing each other since 2017; Mertens has now won three in a row since 2021. They have one win apiece on clay.
