Maria Sharapova, the highest-paid female athlete in the world, was named in Forbes' 30 Under 30 list as one of the young disruptors, innovators and entrepreneurs who have been changing our world.

NEW YORK, NY, USA - Maria Sharapova's on-court accomplishments are well known, but she has had a lot of successes in the business world as well, and she was named in Forbes' 30 Under 30 issue this week, featuring 450 young disruptors, innovators and entrepreneurs who are changing our world. The list includes 30 individuals in 15 categories, and Sharapova is in the Sports category.

Sharapova has complemented her incredible accomplishments on the WTA - four Grand Slam titles, the World No.1 ranking - with a plethora of off-court endeavors, including endorsements with Porsche, Motorola, Tiffany and Nike, as well as her own candy line, Sugarpova. She's the highest-paid female athlete in the world, earning $29 million last year - of which $23 million came from deals off the court.

And a four-month shoulder injury lay-off doesn't seem to have stopped her - she made her comeback from the lengthy lay-off at the Brisbane International last week, making it all the way to the semifinals before falling to Serena Williams. Currently ranked No.3 in the world, she will try to win her second Australian Open title starting next week - she conquered the Happy Slam for the first time in 2008.
