Berlin: Avanesyan overcomes Blinkova for first WTA 500 quarterfinal
Lucky loser Elina Avanesyan advanced to her second career WTA quarterfinal, first on grass and first at WTA 500 level with a three-set win over Anna Blinkova at the bett1open. In her previous tournament, Avanesyan had also reached the fourth round of Roland Garros as a lucky loser.
