KWAZULU-NATAL MIDLANDS, South Africa - It was a fairytale weekend for Chanelle Scheepers, as the South African married her longstanding friend and former coach Roger Anderson this past Saturday, November 10, 2012.

Scheepers, who hails from Harrismith, and Anderson, from Pietermaritzburg, were married at a private ceremony at Lythwood Lodge in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. The celebrations began with a welcome barbecue on Friday, attended by family and close friends, as well as associates from the tennis world. The wedding was Saturday - the bride was dressed in a Justin Alexander creation with layered ivory beaded fabrics, which were laced with Swarovski crystals.

"We chose to come back to South Africa because our families are both here and we wanted as many friends and family to be able to share the day with us," Scheepers said. "It's summer here, so it was a perfect day in the Midlands."

Scheepers and Anderson were in South Africa for three weeks getting ready for the wedding and now leave to go back to the US, to honeymoon in Napa.

"I'll start the pre-season as soon as we get back from Napa," Scheepers said. "I'm playing Hopman Cup with Kevin Anderson and we're really excited to be representing South Africa there. It'll be a fun way to start the year. My goal for the new year is to keep working on my game and improve throughout the year.

"I just want to keep enjoying the sport."
