Ranking Movers: Stephens soars, Muguruza on top
Garbiñe Muguruza has stepped up to the top of the WTA Rankings - but US Open champion Sloane Stephens's meteoric rise is the most notable climb of the week.
The American has leapt up 66 places - from 83 to 17 - and it is all the more incredible as she is still on a comeback after foot surgery. Unseeded in New York, she beat eleventh seed Dominika Cibulkova, 16th seed Anastasija Sevastova and ninth seed Venus Williams en route to the final - where she beat her friend and 15th seed Madison Keys.
