The US Open has always been the stage of dazzling fashion, but this year is extra special as we have haute couture, retro-inspired designs and refreshed traditional sporty looks, that in all their variety and design finesse bring a breathtaking experience to tennis fans.

Maria Sharapova brought haute couture sensibilities to the US Open courts with her little black dress designed by Riccardo Tisci for Nike. Lace, Swarovski crystals, dots and leather details, the Russian married them all for an ultra daring and glamorous look perfect for night matches in New York. The best thing is that the elegant outfit, far from a typical sports look, is by no means compromising performance and Sharapova proved that by ousting world number two Simona Halep in the first-round thriller under the lights of Arthur Ashe Stadium and continuing to surge through the draw.

The tennis fashion queen decided to balance the femininity of the dress with masculine energy of a slightly oversized bomber jacket that is billowy in the back.

Color-blocks and engineered knitwear characterize adidas’ inline collection created in surprising cooperation with musician Pharrell Williams and sported by a range of WTA players, including WTA World No.2 Simona Halep, who showcased the adidas Pharrell NY Tank and the navy pleated skort with striped hem.

The clothes are visually inspired by the sport’s ’70s-era superstars and the engineered argyle mesh fabric pays homage to the brand’s heritage style, but when it comes to performance, the apparel is enhanced by contemporary technologies such as the heat-battling Climacool.

Naomi Osaka, who made headlines by ousting defending champion Angelique Kerber in the first round, rocks the same look, giving it an extra edge with stylish tube socks, the perfectly-matching adidas adizero Ubersonic 3 Pharrell Shoes and of course her photogenic locks.

WTA World No.1 Karolina Pliskova‘s Fila Fall Heritage V-Neck Tank and Fila Fall Heritage Colorblock Skirt display the evolution of the company’s iconic colors with a power palette of diva pink, crisp white, forever navy and mint that make for a dynamic new mix. On top of looking refreshing, the sporty new collection also boasts updated fabrications for a better, lighter feel than ever before.

Caroline Wozniacki’s Adidas Stella McCartney New York Dress glorifies seamless structures, body-hugging design and a strong pop of color inspired by the New York sunset skyline. Two-tone look with the fabric mix and the cooling Climalite technology give this item an extra edge, complemented by the adidas Stella Barricade BOOST 2017 Shoe in the striking solar pink and orange colorway.

NikeCourt representatives, including Petra Kvitova, wear the ultralight and flexible Nike Fall Slam NYC Tank, which allows maximum airflow and moves sweat away from your skin, while the powerful prism print symbolizes the famous lights of the coveted night matches. The Nike Fall NYC Skirt is made from an engineered knit fabric that integrates metallic thread for a powerful look, further enhanced by extra long built-in shorts that offer flexible support, breathability and hidden ball pockets.

Venus Williams made another deep run at a Grand Slam this season in the EleVen Epiphany Pendulum Dress, which combines black, toast and tangerine in a geometric print highlighted by contrast neck and waist insets. Quick-drying fabric, UPF 50 protection and four-way stretch ensure comfort, while the uniqueness of the dress is accentuated by the asymmetrical cut of the large V in the back.
