Former doubles World No.1 Sania Mirza is the latest member of the WTA moms' club after giving birth to her first child - a little boy.

Her husband, cricketer Shoaib Malik, announced the news on Twitter, adding: "[My] girl is doing great and keeping strong as usual."

Malik's manager and agent Ameem Haq tweeted: "Baby and mother are all smiles, the dad is over the moon."

Mirza revealed the news of her pregnancy back in April with a social media post, announcing the imminent arrival of "Baby Mirza-Malik".

The 31-year-old has since said she hopes to return to tennis in time for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, saying: “The 2020 Olympics is a long way off. I’ve said this many times that as tennis players, we wish we knew what our lives brought us tomorrow. Having said that though, it definitely looks very doable right now… Most definitely, I would say coming back to playing is priority as soon as the pregnancy is done."
