EASTBOURNE, UK - Caroline Wozniacki got behind the counter of a local ice cream parlour before the first day of main-draw action at the Nature Valley International - and put together a magnificent sundae of her own creation.

The Dane was joined by ATP player Denis Shapovalov - and the pair served up a couple of real treats.

The Australian Open champion is well known for her sweet tooth - and a particular love of ice cream. She visited the Museum of Ice Cream as a pre-Christmas treat last year.

And she's long been a fan of the ice cream on offer at Eastbourne, popping out for a sweet treat with friend Agnieszka Radwanska.

And this has been a long-running love affair, since her junior days, when she won the competition twice. Back in 2009 - her second year in the senior main draw - she revealed that she celebrated success by the seaside with a scoop or two.

"If I win I let myself eat one but if I lose then I don’t think I deserve it. As long as I keep winning then I can keep enjoying my ice cream," she told reporters.

It's served her well - she's a former champion at the tournament, a former runner-up, and a three-time semifinalist.
