A big run in Toronto put Marie Bouzkova on the map, and earned her your votes as August's Breakthrough of the Month.
The 21-year-old Czech turned heads at the Rogers Cup, where she came out of qualifying to reach the biggest semifinal of her career to date at the Premier 5 event.
Over the course of her run, she scored thre first two Top 10 victories of her career over Sloane Stephens and Simona Halep, and also beat former French Open winner Jelena Ostapenko along the way.
Ranked World No. 91, she also took a set from Serena Williams in the semifinals, before seeing her run ended in her seventh match of the tournament in three sets.
