MATCH POINTS
No.4 seed Caroline Garcia leads the charge of three French players in the quarterfinals, which includes a maiden WTA quarterfinal appearance for Chloe Paquet.
Paquet will face former finalist Daria Gavrilova, who has recorded back-to-back victories for just the second time this season this week in Strasbourg.
Garcia will face another first-time quarterfinalist in Ukrainian teenager Marta Kostyuk, while the latters compatriot - No.6 seed Dayana Yastremska - faces the last Frenchwoman in Fiona Ferro.
The day's final quarterfinal match sees former champion Monica Puig face No.2 seed Aryna Sabalenka for the second time this clay-court season, in a rematch of the third round clash won by the Puerto Rican at the Volvo Car Open.
