Nottingham: Snigur ousts defending champion Haddad Maia in first round
Lucky loser Daria Snigur knocked out No.2 seed and defending champion Beatriz Haddad Maia in the first round of the Rothesay Open. Snigur, 21, owns two tour-level wins in her career -- both over Top 10 players, following her first-round upset of Simona Halep at the 2022 US Open.
