No.3 seed Wang Xinyu reached her second semifinal of 2023 at the Kinoshita Group Japan Open Tennis Championships after defeating No.6 seed Yulia Putintseva in 2 hours and 51 minutes. Wang won the first set from 4-2 down, lost the second from 3-1 up and won the last 11 points of the match.
