NEW YORK, NY, USA - Li Na will feature on the cover of the May 26 issue of TIME magazine, the second time in a little more than a year that she graces TIME's cover - she was featured on the cover of the 2013 TIME 100 issue, the magazine's annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world.

'The Passion Of Li Na' feature focuses on Li's journey in professional tennis, her relationship with the Chinese people, her role as a global sports icon and how she has inspired millions of Chinese people as a symbol of independence and freedom. "I am really honored to be featured on the cover of TIME magazine yet again," Li said.

"As one of the most widely read publications in the world, I am very grateful to be in the position to make an impact on the multitude of people, especially women, and to show them that if you truly believe in yourself and in your talent, and are willing to work hard, your dreams can become reality.

"'Dare to make a breakthrough and dare to challenge all' is my call for our young generation because self-transcendence is the true meaning of success," the Chinese trailblazer added.

Li has been the torch-bearer for women's tennis in China, and in the Asia-Pacific region in general. She became Asia's first Grand Slam champion at the 2011 French Open (and has followed it up with another Grand Slam title at the 2014 Australian Open), she became the first Asian player ever to break into the Top 3 on the WTA Rankings (and has since bettered her career-high to No.2) and she is also currently No.1 on the Road To Singapore leaderboard, the year-long journey to the BNP Paribas WTA Championships Singapore presented by SC Global - the WTA finale's first Asia-Pacific venue.

Li is the second-highest-paid female athlete in the world with over $42 million in endorsement deals.
