Madison Keys: SI Kids Correspondent

Fresh off her breakthrough week, WTA Rising Star Madison Keys has signed on as Sports Illustrated Kids Special Correspondent, blogging from around the world.

LONDON, England - Fresh off her first WTA title at the Premier-level Aegon International, Madison Keys has signed on as Sports Illustrated Kids Special Correspondent, communicating with readers through Madison's Passport, a series of monthly videos capturing her life travelling the WTA.

Madison's Passport, which will live on SIKids.com/MadisonKeys, will feature her world travels, playing tournaments, training, exploring new cities, trying new cuisine and spending time with her fellow players. She will also be featured in SI Kids magazine, which has a readership of over 3 million.

"I grew up reading the magazine, so having my own space on the SI Kids website and being a part of the SI Kids family is really fun for me," Keys, the youngest player in the world's Top 50, said.

Mark Bechtel, SI Kids Managing Director, added: "We're excited to have Madison blogging for us. In addition to being one of the most exciting young tennis players, she is extremely personable and that personality is really going to connect with and entertain our readers. She's a perfect match for us."

As for her breakthrough week in Eastbourne, Keys may not have that much time to celebrate.

"I have to rush back and pack and then drive to Wimbledon, so hopefully tonight we'll have some sort of celebratory dinner," Keys said. "But it will probably be a very short-lived celebration."

The 19-year-old American has made a little bit of time to call home, though.

"I talked to my mom and I talked to a couple of my friends," Keys said. "They're all very happy. I'm sure once I have five seconds I'll actually sit down and call my mom and talk to her.

"As of right now, I've been a little busy, so I haven't had a lot of time!"

What would it mean to keep her winning streak going at Wimbledon?

"Obviously it would be amazing to win Wimbledon. That's definitely a goal of mine. But as of right now, I'm kind of taking it step by step, and going into Wimbledon I'm really just focusing on one match at a time. So right now I'm just going to enjoy this one, and then tomorrow I'll be focusing on there."
