MATCH POINTS

2016 Strasbourg winner Caroline Garcia is the last remaining champion left in the field after 2014 titlist Monica Puig fell to Aryna Sabalenka in Thursday's quarterfinals.

Garcia takes a 2-0 head-to-head lead into her match against fellow Frenchwoman Chloe Paquet. They played most recently at Roland Garros in 2017, where Garcia won 7-5, 6-4 in the second round.

4th-seeded Garcia improves her main-draw win-loss record at Strasbourg to 10-2 following her quarterfinal win over teenager Marta Kostyuk.

Dayana Yastremska won her only previous encounter with Aryna Sabalenka. Yastremska defeated Sabalenka on indoor hardcourt in St. Petersburg in 2017, 3-6, 7-5, 6-1.
