World No.1 Simona Halep dethroned Caroline Wozniacki in the top spot of the Porsche Race to Singapore after reaching the final in Rome.

World No.1 Simona Halep is now top-ranked in two places.

After a runner-up finish at the Internazionali BNL d'Italia over the weekend, the Romanian rises two spots to supplant Australian Open champion Caroline Wozniacki at the top of the Porsche Race to Singapore this week. 

Despite having won just one title this season in Shenzhen, the Australian Open runner-up has been a beacon of consistency at the top of the rankings, reaching at least the quarterfinals in all but one tournament thus far this season.

Elsewhere in the Top 8, Rome champion Elina Svitolina also rises two spots in the Race to the No.4 position after her third title of 2018.

France's Caroline Garcia, who has reached the quarterfinals or better in all three events she played on Europe's red clay over the past month, cracks the Top 10 in the Race with a rise of two places, while Anett Kontaveit's breakout run to the semifinals in the Italian capital bumps her up 11 spots to No.16. 

Further down, Maria Sharapova is the biggest mover amongst the Race rankings. After returning to the Top 30 in this week's rankings by virte of a semifinal showing in Rome, the Russian soars 27 places to No.23.
