- Born in New Zealand where she stayed for first four years of her life before returning to her parents' homeland of Canada
- Parents are Robert Routliffe and Catherine MacLennan; has two sisters, Tara and Tess, the latter being an international paraswimmer
- Moved to Montreal in September 2011 to train at the National Training Centre and stayed there until 2013
- Studied at the University of Alabama and was part of their tennis team between 2013-17 and was two-time NCAA doubles champion with Maya Jansen. Majored in public relations
