Over the next two weeks, the WTA Editorial team will be revisiting the hottest shots and most remarkable rallies of the 2023 season.

Best of 2023: January | February (Middle East/Europe) | February/March (North America) | April | May | June | July | August | September | October | October/November

First up is the Australasian swing of January, encompassing Adelaide 1, Auckland, Adelaide 2, Hobart and Hua Hin. Coco Gauff pulled off a miraculous lob en route to her third career title, Venus Williams turned back the clock with a vintage backhand, Tamara Zidansek scrambled to every corner of the court, and Zhu Lin and Madison Brengle put on a three-set show. The best of the lot, though, has to be yet more Ons Jabeur wizardry.
