No.5 seed Wozniacki claimed the Charleston title in 2011, defeating Elena Vesnina in the final. The Dane was also the runner-up to Sabine Lisicki in 2009. Wozniacki has reached at least the quarterfinals in all six of her appearances at the Volvo Car Open.

Keys reached the Charleston final in 2015, losing to Angelique Kerber. The American also reached the semifinals at the tournament last year before losing to eventual champion Kiki Bertens in a final-set tiebreak. Keys is 15-6 at Charleston over her career.
No.8 seed Keys claimed her first win in four professional meetings against her good friend, top-seeded Sloane Stephens, in the quarterfinals on Friday.
World No.13 Wozniacki is projected to rise to No.12 in the rankings with her finalist showing, and could reach No.11 if she claims the title. The former World No.1 and 2018 Australian Open champion seeks her 31st WTA singles title of her career.
World No.18 Keys is projected to go to No.16 by making the final and No.14 by capturing the title. Keys, who has a career-high ranking of World No.7 and reached the final of the 2017 US Open, is aiming for a fourth career WTA singles title.
All four doubles finalists are into their first Volvo Car Open championship match. Anna-Lena Groenefeld has won 16 WTA doubles titles in her career, and Alicia Rosolska has won eight. Irina Khromacheva has one WTA doubles title to her name, while Veronika Kudermetova View Profile seeks her first.
