Paolini saves four match points to defeat Garcia for first time
Jasmine Paolini defeated No.6 seed Caroline Garcia in the second round of the Bank of Communications Zhengzhou Open after saving four match points serving at 4-5 in the decider. Paolini, who had not taken a set from Garcia in four previous meetings, notched her third career Top 10 win, and second of 2023.
