Married long-time partner Julia Lemigova in December, 2014... The couple adopted two boys in 2024, adding to a family that already included two daughters, Victoria and Emma... Frequently appears on hit reality TV show Real Housewives of Miami, of which Lemigova is a central cast member... At the age of 18, during 1975 US Open, defected from the former Czechoslovakia and sought political asylum in the United States... Granted US citizenship in 1981... In 1986, made an emotional to Prague for the first time in more than a decade as a member of US Federation Cup team, alongside Evert, Shriver and Garrison... Has written several non-fiction books, including Tennis My Way with Mary Carillo (1982); an autobiography, co-written with New York Times sports columnist George Vecsey, titled Martina in the US and Being Myself in the rest of the world (1985); and Shape Yourself, a health and fitness guide (2006)...
