BACKGROUND 

Dr. Maynard completed her Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at Mayo Clinic Florida in 2009. Since then, she has served as an attending physician with Family Medicine and holds the academic rank of Assistant Professor. She was mentored as the Associate Program Director for the Sports Medicine Fellowship, under Dr. Walt Taylor 2013-2016. Dr. Maynard was then selected to serve as the Program Director of the Sports Medicine Fellowship at Mayo Clinic Florida in 2016. Dr. Maynard served as a Tournament Physician for the MPS Championships in 2009-2010 and currently serves as Chief Medical Advisor for the WTA since 2019.

EDUCATION 

Dr. Maynard received her Medical Doctorate from the University of Maryland, School of Medicine 2005. At Christiana Care Health Services in Wilmington, DE, she served as Chief Resident and completed a Family Medicine Residency in 2008. She holds a Certificate of Added Qualification for completion of Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at Mayo Clinic Florida since 2009. She has conducted research on the female athlete and concussion and presented extensively on many areas related to sports medicine.

EXPERTISE 

Recognized as a leader in Sports Medicine in the State or Florida, Dr. Maynard has been appointed to the Florida High School Athletic Association Sports Medicine Advisory Committee, where she currently serves as the Chair. In addition, Dr. Maynard holds the position of Chair of the Physician Advisory Council and Treasurer for the Executive Board of the Jacksonville Sports Medicine Program. Dr. Maynard provides consultation and education to enhance the quality and safety of medical services provided to the players of the WTA. She works closely with the Primary Health Care Providers to ensure appropriateness and standards of all medical and health care services for the athletes.
