Barty has reached the fourth round or better in seven straight Grand Slam events, a streak exceeded only by Serena Williams, Kim Clijsters and Venus Williams among active players.

No.25 seed Karolina Muchova made her second Grand Slam quarterfinal (Wimbledon 2019). The Czech lost 6-3, 6-4 to Barty in their only previous meeting at the 2018 US Open.

Muchova owns a 6-4 record against Top 20 players at Grand Slams, compared to 2-8 elsewhere. Both of her previous two Top 10 wins came on the major stage.

No.22 seed Jennifer Brady, who made the Australian Open fourth round in her Grand Slam debut in 2017, has dropped the fewest games of the quarterfinalists (17) and has been broken just twice in the tournament.

US Open semifinalist Brady owns a 20-5 hardcourt record since the tour resumption last August, but one of those losses was her first meeting with Jessica Pegula in the first round of Cincinnati.

World No.61 Jessica Pegula is in her first Grand Slam quarterfinal, with quality wins against No.12 Victoria Azarenka in Round 1 and No.5 Elina Svitolina in Round 4.

Pegula twice reached the Top 200 before being sidelined by knee and hip surgeries, in 2014 and 2017. The 26-year-old finally cracked the Top 100 last February and is assured of a Top 50 debut next week.
